A postdoctoral research position is available in the labs of Professor David Lawrence (http://lawrence.chem.unc.edu/index.html ) and Professor Lauren Haar (https://tarheels.live/haarheartlab/ ) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The project focuses on the design, construction, and application of optogenetic (light-activated) analogs of signaling proteins implicated in cardiovascular disease. We are looking for a for a highly motivated and enthusiastic postdoctoral level investigator with expertise in the general areas of molecular and cell biology. Hands on experience in standard molecular biology techniques (e.g., cloning, transfection, transduction, etc.), tissue culture, and microscopy is required. Experience in protein design, particularly in optogenetics, is desirable, but not essential. The successful candidate will be positioned in a highly collaborative environment with access to cutting edge instrumentation and expertise
