The College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Chemistry, has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Postdoctoral Associate to work in Coral Gables, FL.

The Postdoctoral Associate supports research activities at the University, under the supervision of a faculty member, in order to advance their knowledge and/or be documented by scientific publications.

The Laboratory of Dr. Jamie D. Walls at the Department of Chemistry is currently seeking a Postdoctoral associate to develop new NMR methodology for improving resolution in both liquid- and solid-state NMR. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, or related fields by its start date. In addition, the candidate should have: 1) a strong scientific background in NMR (solids and/or liquids),, 2) an outstanding independent research track-record that underscore peer-reviewed publication, and 3) a willingness to work in a collaborative environment.

 Position Highlights:

  • Research in the Walls group tackles non-traditional NMR problems often with a strong theoretical component.

  • The chemistry efforts at the Department of Chemistry are supported by 300, 400, and 500 MHz liquid-state Bruker Spectrometers and a 400 MHz spectrometer with microimaging and solid-state NMR capabilities.

  • The Laboratory actively supports the career development of its postdoctoral researchers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Ph.D. Required.
