A grant-funded position is open for a first year postdoc, who earned a BS in Veterinary Sciences and a PhD in a biological field, such as Molecular Parasitology, with an emphasis on in vivo research. The successful applicant should have publications and experience in in vitro and in vivo models, including rodent handling, breeding, and dosing: IV, IP, SC, and oral gavage, survival surgeries. They should have experience in laboratory techniques including molecular biology, immunology, ELISA, IFA, SDS-PAGE, blotting method, cDNA cloning, real-time PCR, cell culture, tissue sectioning, processing, and microscopy. Experience in manuscript and grant writing preferred.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
Candidates should have a recent Ph.D. in neurobiology or a related field with one or more first author publications in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals. Candidates must have effective communication skills and be highly motivated, self-driven, creative, and interactive, with the ability to work collaboratively and independently. A proven record of accomplishment with mouse genetics, histology, rodent stereotaxic brain injections, electrophysiology, optogenetics, and/or mouse behavior is preferred. Experience with script writing and coding skills is a plus. This position requires experience and willingness to work with mice. Salary will be negotiable, competitive, and commensurate with experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
BS in Veterinary Sciences and a PhD in a biological field, such as Molecular Parasitology with experience in rodent models and cell culture.
Equipment Utilized
Controlled cortical impact device will be used.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Work with rodents.
