The QCD group at Duke University anticipates an opening for a postdoctoral research associate beginning September 1, 2022 (subject to funding availability). Candidates should have a Ph.D. by the starting date and have expertise in an area relevant to the group's research program. Topics of interest include: perturbative QCD, Quark-Gluon-Plasma Phenomenology, Transport Theory of Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collisions, Jet physics, Soft-Collinear Effective Theory, applications of EFT to particle and nuclear physics, and all areas of QCD with applications related to the Heavy-Ion program at RHIC and LHC, the EIC, as well as other particle physics experiments. Candidates are explicitly asked to outline in their research statement how their research will fit with or complement the current research by the Duke QCD group led by Steffen A. Bass, Thomas Mehen, and Berndt Mueller. The research group currently consists of the three faculty, a research scientist, a postdoc and 5 graduate students. The successful candidate is expected to actively engage with other members of the group and participate in the mentoring of the graduate students.
