Postdoctoral Associate

Updated: about 1 month ago
Location: Houston, TEXAS
Job Type: FullTime

A Postdoctoral Associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Michael J. Robertson in the Verna & Marrs McLean Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Pharmacology at Baylor College of Medicine.

The Robertson lab’s research focus is in combining cryogenic electron microscopy and molecular dynamics simulations to generate movies of membrane proteins in action and leveraging the resulting insights in dynamics-based drug discovery. We have an opening for a postdoctoral associate with a focus on experimental work related to the structural biology of G Protein Coupled Receptor (GPCR) signaling. Applicants with backgrounds in Structural Biology, Biochemistry, and Biophysics are preferred, although specific area of expertise is less important than a drive to perform interdisciplinary research at the cutting edge. You must have a Ph.D. from an accredited institution, an excellent publication record, efficient time management skills, and a strong work ethic. Most importantly you must be passionate about solving unanswered questions in membrane protein signaling & drug discovery.  You will lead projects, design experiments, and collaborate with other scientists to accomplish research goals, write papers and contribute to grant writing. This position is funded by a generous Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) award.
