Postdoctoral Associate- Molecular Biology

Dr. Wei Li’s laboratory at Department of Ophthalmology, Cullen Eye Institute, Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a talented and motivated Postdoctoral Associate. Our translational research focuses on drug target discovery and novel therapy development to treat ocular vascular diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and retinopathy of prematurity.

• Performs experiments involving molecular biology, phage display, cell biology, protein expression and purification, protein-protein interaction, immunohistochemistry and in vivo gene therapy. Knowledge of ophthalmology and experience in ophthalmic or animal surgery skills are not necessary but a plus. 
• Performs basic animal research, including injections, in vivo analyses, etc.
• Manages mice colony to include husbandry, etc.
• Writes manuscripts and postdoctoral fellowship applications
• Organizes lab, reviews inventory and orders supplies.

• MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
• No experience required.

• It is preferred that candidates demonstrate scientific productivity with peer-reviewed publications and strong commitment to scientific research. Recipients of recent PhD or MD degree are strongly encouraged to apply. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
