Postdoctoral Associate

​​Required Qualifications (Evidenced by an attached resume):  
Doctoral Degree (foreign equivalent or higher degree) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field of study such as Physics, Material Science or Electrical Engineering by February 2023.
Preferred Qualifications:   
Strong experimental background in photoluminescence, nonlinear optics, ultrafast optical spectroscopy and/or quantum optics. Experience with micro-photoluminescence and Raman spectroscopy of 2D materials, nonlinear emission and/or quantum photonics in 2D materials are preferred.
Brief Description of Duties: 
The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator in the department of Mechanical Engineering.  Please visit   to learn more about our department/research. The incumbent will conduct research and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University.
Duties:

• Conduct experiment and/or theoretical work in the research areas of optical materials and spectroscopy studies.
• Collect and analyze data.
• Write manuscripts for publications in scientific journals and prepare project reports.
• Maintain lab and lab equipment, ordering supplies as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
