Job Description:

This position will be responsible for the synthesis and medicinal chemistry SAR optimization of ligands for a number of biological targets including GPCR’s, nuclear receptors and ion channels. SAR optimization will include drug metabolism parameters such as microsome stability, plasma protein binding, in vivo pharmacokinetics and brain penetration. Compound scale-up for in vivo efficacy studies may also be required. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary to thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.


This position works in a laboratory or vivarium environment. Further details of the physical requirements of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview  process.
 
Expected Salary:

Commensurate with experience.

Minimum Requirements:
Extensive Ph.D. graduate work in multi-step organic synthesis is required. Must possess a doctoral degree. A pending doctoral degree may be considered with approval of the Principal Investigator.  
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience in heterocyclic and medicinal chemistry and/or structure-based drug design. 
  • Good laboratory skills and familiarity with modern synthetic techniques and instrumentation (HPLC-MS, HPLC, NMR, chromatography).
