Position DescriptionPostdoctoral Associate in additive manufacturing technology: Involved in external research projects as well as scholarly publications and proposal writing, the postdoctoral associate will work under the mentorship of senior faculty in preparation for an academic and/or industrial career. Candidate will participate in funded research in various topics of additive manufacturing (AM), such as surface formation, size effects, tensile behavior in laser powder-bed fusion. The research will involve multi-scale, multi-physics process modeling and simulations, high resolution process metrology, microstructural and mechanical properties analysis, and data-driven process qualification, etc. Therefore, the candidate must have a broad research background (manufacturing technology, thermo-fluid science, and materials engineering) and considerable experiences (at least 6 months of work experience after Ph.D.) in AM and/or related research with both theoretical and experimental skills, as well as a strong track record of publications in reputable journals and/or conference proceedings. The candidate must also be highly creative, goal driven, and can contribute to team work as well as collaborate with research groups at the University of Louisville and beyond.
This Postdoctoral Associate position is a one-year appointment (with an annual salary of $47,476) and is renewable for up to two additional years subject to fund availability.
