Job Description: The Hershfield Tarrant lab is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team in the study of immunodeficiency diseases, inborn errors of immunity, and purine metabolism. Active projects include translational research in Adenosine Deaminase 2 deficiency (DADA2) designed to elucidate disease pathogenesis. The ideal candidate will have either a MD PhD dual degree or a PhD degree in immunology, biochemistry, pathology, genetics, or other biological sciences. The ideal candidate will have experience in molecular biology techniques, gene expression assays and analysis, immunologic assays, and animal models.
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute experiments to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying immunodeficiency diseases and purine metabolism, specifically adenosine deaminase 2.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data.
- Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Present research findings at scientific conferences.
Education/Training:
- PhD or MD PhD in immunology, biochemistry, pathology, genetics, or other biological sciences.
- Experience in molecular biology techniques, gene expression assays and analysis, immunologic assays, and animal models.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English language.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
