Specific Laboratory Duties

Perform Parkinson’s disease-lik e behavioral analyses of genetically modified mice (25%)

·         Perform motor function tests in mice

·         Evaluate gastrointestinal fun ction including intestinal transit in mice

Perform immunohistochemical analysis of mouse tissue (25%)

·         Collect organs and tissues from mice

Prepare tissue for immunohistochem ical staining

·         Perform microsco pic analysis of tissue

Analyze al pha-synuclein in mouse and human intestine (20%)

·< span>         Prepare mouse tissue

·          Analyze samples using quantitative biochemical assays

Data analysis (15%)

·          Collect laboratory results

·          Analyze data using standard statistical methods

Prepare data in graphical format

·         Prepare photomicrographs of pub lication quality

Reporting (15%)

·         Write reports

·          Write manuscripts

·         < /span>Participate in laboratory meetings

·         </s pan>Prepare data for internal and public presentations

·         Present experimental findings atscienti fic meetings

Perform other related duti es incidental to the work described herein.

Education

Work requires a PhD o r MD degree or equivalent.  

Exp erience

Work requires 2 ye ars related laboratory experience or any other equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
