Summary

Postdoctoral Associate- Cancer Epigenetics

A Postdoctoral Associate position is available in the lab of Dr. Tao Wu in the Department of Molecular & Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine (https://www.bcm.edu/research/labs/tao-wu). The Wu lab focuses on the dynamic epigenetic regulation and the mechanisms underlying cancer therapeutic resistance; in particular, the functional mechanisms of novel DNA methylation (6mA). We seek to decipher the epigenetic driving force of anticancer therapeutic resistance, define new biomarkers, and develop new approaches to overcome the therapeutic resistance in cancer. We apply multiple wet lab techniques, as well as dry lab genomic profiling and bioinformatics approaches in different cancer model systems.

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Associate whose research will fall into interdisciplinary fields in  genomics/epigenetics/bioinformatics.  This position will require developing analytical approaches to solve computational scripts and analytical code, genomic data analysis of sequencing data sets, and generating statistical figures.  Experience in genomic profiling data analysis, epigenetics, and/or bioinformatics analysis preferred.

Ideal candidates should be able to creatively conceive the study, critically design experiments and analyze genomic data. Applicants should be self-motivated, open-minded, detail-oriented and collaborative. PhD required in molecular and cell biology, genetics, genomics or bioinformatics.
