Summary

This is a postdoctoral associate position looking for applicants with an interest in furthering the research in the Advanced Gastroenterology/Endoscopy field. We are searching for candidates with a PhD, or MD/PhD degree and are familiar with conducting the various aspects of clinical research. You will collaborate extensively with the advanced endoscopy team at Baylor in data collection, writing abstracts or manuscripts, and/or submitting grants to help obtain funding for the studies of the team.


Job Duties
  • Designs, submits, and participates in clinical trials throughout their progression under the tutelage of the Chief of GI, Dr. Mohamed Othman.
  • Assists study team (research coordinators) in the proper conduct of the clinical trial to collect study data during the procedures or clinic visits.
  • Collaborates with the Principal Investigator and may support additional sub-investigators on various aspects of their studies.
  • Contributes in study data review, attending team meetings, conducting basic statistics and sharing results with study team.
  • Prepares abstracts and/or manuscripts.
  • Maintains the study data and can work well with Electronic Data Capture systems in the institution such as REDCap.
  • Aids in grant writing and prepare submissions for PI review.
  • Assists in writing publications for the advanced endoscopy team.

Minimum Qualifications
  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Record of publications in which was first author, or contributed to multiple publications.
  • Completed Fellowship in Gastroenterology with interest in pursuing career of Advanced Endoscopy.
  • Demonstrates excellence in written and spoken communication. Has experience in using statistical software for research data analysis such as SAS, SPSS, or equivalent.
