Summary


The Postdoctoral Associate position is based in a translational research laboratory focused on cancer immunotherapy research. The goal of the translational research is to design immunotherapeutic approaches that can reduce or eliminate the tumor cells using pre-clinical models of human cancer. The human immune system can locate and eliminate cancer and the lab's research uses genetic engineering techniques to redirect special cells of the immune system to effectively and specifically attack cancer cells. The Postdoctoral Associate will utilize laboratory techniques that requires a specialized skill set to identify/isolate immune cells, to change their genetic program, to expand them to sufficient numbers and to study the behavior of these genetically modified cells in pre-clinical models of cancer. The Postdoctoral Associate should be proficient in techniques relevant to tumor immunology including cell culture, flow cytometry, cytotoxicity assays, proteomic and genomic techniques, and working with tumor bearing mice.


Job Duties
  • Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data.
  • Establishes new research protocols and procedures.
  • Summarizes research findings and publishes results in research journals. 
  • Responsible for laboratory operations.
  • Supervises research staff.

Minimum Qualifications
  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.
