Postdoctoral Associate

The postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Schiff-Osborne lab to study genetic and epigenetic mechanisms of tumor progression and drug resistance in breast cancer using human cell lines, animal models, and clinical specimens, with the goal to identify new mechanisms of resistance, and therapeutic targets and biomarkers that can be translated to the clinic. The successful candidate is expected to develop and carry out independent research projects, supervise technicians, and work in collaboration with the bioinformatics and functional genomics team in the lab.

• Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments.
• Collects, compiles and analyzes data.
• Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
• Documents results of experiments.
• Selects, evaluates and applies techniques used in routine research.
• Prepares project reports, scientific manuscripts, grant proposals, and abstracts, and present the research work in conferences or scientific meetings.
   

• MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
• Experience Required: None Required.

• Knowledge about molecular biology and cancer biology
• The ideal candidate must hold a PhD or MD/PhD degree with expertise in molecular and cellular biology.  
• Experience with in vivo tumor models and/or bioinformatics is preferred.
• A strong record of achievements and publications, encompass the ability to work independently and in a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment, and demonstrate excellent scientific communication and writing skills.
• Prior experiences in tissue culture and basic molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, DNA purification, Western blot, … etc) are required.
