Summary

Postdoctoral position is sought for a postdoc with demonstrated experience in mouse models of disease, molecular biology, and electrophysiology. The candidate is expected to continue our work on adult neurogenesis and the influence of aging and age-related diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease. Evidence of collaborative and team work is essential. Knowledge of biology, confocal imaging, electrophysiology, and molecular biology is essential.

Job Duties
  • Performs immunohistochemistry; confocal microscopy, stereology.
  • Performs DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, cloning, Western blot analysis.
  • Performs Patch-clamp in mouse slices and other preparations
  • Performs field recordings in mouse slices and other preparations
  • Performs screening of drugs and their effects on neuronal activity.
  • Performs data analysis of single and multi-electrode recordings.

Minimum Qualifications
  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in drug development.
  • Excellent written/oral communication and organizational skills are required, and the candidate must work effectively in a team environment. The candidate will also be expected to participate in research grant preparation, manuscript writing and presentation of research results at professional conferences.
