Summary
One postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Yang He's Laboratory within the Department of Pediatrics-Neurology at Baylor College of Medicine. Our team is devoted to unraveling the mechanisms of how central nervous system orchestrates systemic energy balance, aiming to unlock groundbreaking therapies for obesity and metabolic disorders. The research projects in our group delves into the fundamental neural processes that influence eating behavior, energy expenditure, physical activity, glucose metabolism, all of which play pivotal roles in metabolic health. We are highly interested in identifying novel neural mechanisms critical for control of energy homeostasis using various molecular, genetic, and viral approaches, including in vitro electrophysiology, in vivo calcium imaging, viral gene delivery, opto- and chemical genetic and pharmacological methods, transgenic rodents, molecular/cellular neurobiology, omics (transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics), biochemistry. More information about our research can be found by visiting: https://tchmain2.prod.acquia-sites.com/duncan-nri/faculty/yang-he-phd. Individuals with expertise in one or multiple of the following aspects: Patch-clamp electrophysiology, rodent behavior study, RNA-sequencing, proteomics, or other multi-omics studies, are highly encouraged to apply. The selected candidate will benefit from collaborative opportunities with esteemed experts in the field, hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive research setting, and access to top-tier facilities and resources. This position also offers extensive opportunities for professional growth and networking within the scientific community.
