Summary

The Postdoctoral Fellow will be part of an energetic research team in the Center for Epidemiology and Population Health Equity in Cancer Prevention and Control program. The postdoc will be expected to contribute to the broad research effort in the Equity in Cancer Prevention and Control program. The postdoc will conduct epidemiologic analyses on research projects focused on prevention and screening for HPV-associated cancers and health disparities.  The postdoc will be expected to stay abreast of current literature, make meaningful scientific contributions to the team, lead the development and publication of peer-reviewed manuscripts (with guidance and help from the mentor), and compete for extramural funding from the National Institutes of Health, the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas, and/or foundations (also with guidance and help from the mentor). 


Job Duties
  • Conceptualizes, designs, and conducts epidemiologic analyses related to the project with guidance from mentor and help of other team members.
  • Analyzes data. 
  • Presents evolving results at biweekly research meetings and seminars.

Minimum Qualifications
  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Epidemiology, Behavioral Sciences, or related fields.
  • Excellent epidemiologic analysis skills.
  • Excellent scientific writing skills.
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
