With guidance, the appointee will contribute to experiment design, execution, and data analysis in a variety of areas pertaining to various fields of analytical chemistry and surface chemistry. The appointee will work primarily on a project to develop patterned surface coatings deposited with atomic layer deposition (ALD) for a specific application. The appointee will be responsible for documenting results in the form of monthly reports, progress reports to sponsors, and technical publications and presentations. The successful candidate will work as a member of a multidisciplinary team developing technologies and conducting experiments.

To perform the essential functions of this position, successful applicants must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship which is required to comply with federal regulations and contract, illegal drug testing as defined in 10 CFR 707.4 and a background investigation will be required prior to employment.
This level of knowledge is typically achieved through a formal education in analytical chemistry or a related field such as physical chemistry, radiochemistry or chemical engineering, with zero to three years of experience or equivalent in the scientific application of this knowledge and practical laboratory experience.
