Postdoc in Fungal eDNA

Conducts experiments using techniques including, but not limited to, pathogen isolation and culturing, microbiome characterization using metabarcoding, and targeted PCR to obtain DNA sequences to be used to build consensus phylogenetic trees to aid in fungal species identification. Helps refine trapping technology for airborne fungal spores and techniques for efficient eDNA extraction and processing. Records data and summarizes test results including graphs charts and tables. Prepares manuscripts for publication and presentations (oral and posters) for national and international conferences and contributes to proposal writing. Supervises graduate and undergraduate students.
