Job Description Summary:

GW’s Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) strives to maintain a diverse program of research directed at a wide range of problems in areas such as bio-inspired engineering, bioengineering, energy and sustainability, multiscale modeling and simulation, anotechnology, mechatronics and robotics, machine design, manufacturing, fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, and materials science.
Under general guidance of the Principal Investigator, the Post Doctoral Scientist will support research efforts related to the study of molecular simulations of CO2-H2O-hydrocarbon fluids in clay and metal-organic junctions.

Responsibilities include:

Perform molecular simulations of CO2-H2O-hydrocarbon fluids in clay inter layers
Investigate amorphous magnesium carbonate structures by using Monte Carlo and molecular dynamics simulations
Perform molecular simulations of metal –organic junctions.

Composes technical reports and papers.

Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position

Minimum Qualifications:

Require’s a PhD in the field or in a related area.

Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:

PhD
Experienced researcher in Molecular simulation of complex fluids in clay minerals.
published peer-reviewed papers in the field.
