JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is initiating long-term research on wild turkey in Pennsylvania to develop a decision model for setting fall harvest regulations, develop an integrated population model to monitor population trends, and investigate ways to improve population monitoring and the decision process. There will be mentoring opportunities as the project will support a PhD and MS student beginning in Fall 2022.

Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in an appropriate field and be able to provide evidence that all requirements have been met for completion of the Ph.D. prior to the effective date of hire. This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire with an excellent possibility of re-funding. This position will be located at Penn State in University Park, Pennsylvania.

Qualifications: Experience with Bayesian integrated population models required. Experience with decision modeling desirable but not necessary.
