Post Doctoral Scholar to pursue education and experience in research under the supervision of designated faculty in the Department of Biological Chemistry and Pharmacology, for a period generally not to exceed three years; performs basic science and applied research in the field of chromatin organization and dynamics with considerable scope and complexity; identifies and selects problems to be studied in agreement with Principal Investigator; plans and performs complex experiments and procedures; coordinates, collects, and analyzes data; prepares research results for publication in reports, papers, journal, books, presentations, conference and other media; prepare seminars, talks, and lectures; supervise over assigned research staff and students; assists with laboratory techniques and operates laboratory equipment; performs basic lab maintenance duties; maintains lab supplies; and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
A doctoral degree in molecular biology, cell biology, biophysics, biochemistry or other appropriate discipline, or equivalent. Doctoral degree with research experience required; previous experience in CRISPR and/or microscopy.
Preferred; strong publication record preferred; ability to work in an idependent environment with moderate supervision; strong analytical and writing skills.
Requires successful completion of a background check; selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
