Post Doctoral Scholar - Cognitive and Decision Psychology

The Kvam lab within the Cognitive and Decision Psychology areas of the Psychology Department, within the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University, seeks applicants for a Post Doctoral Scholar to begin in August 2024. This will be for an initial term of one year and may be renewable for up to a total of three years.

The Post Doctoral Scholar will carry out research on cognitive mechanisms of decision-making, computational modeling, methods for behavioral data analysis, and/or artificial intelligence. The Post Doctoral Scholar will contribute to data analysis, presentations of results, preparation and publication of manuscripts, and applications for external funding as appropriate to their eligibility. They will work closely with members of the laboratory, engage with graduate and undergraduate students, participate in area activities and career development (e.g., colloquia), and develop collaborations with other researchers
working on related projects.


Minimum Education Required – Ph.D. in psychology or related field

Required Qualifications – Prior experience conducting cognitive or psychological research.

Desired Qualifications – Previous publication(s) in academic journals related to psychology and/or cognitive science are desired but not required.


Additional Information:

Applicants must have completed all requirements for a doctoral degree in psychology or related field before the starting date. Preference will be given to individuals who are within three years past Ph.D.


Funding is committed for one year with a re-appointment possible for up to three years total contingent upon a successful performance review and the availability of funding. Salary is competitive and medical benefits are included.
