Job Summary/Basic Function | About the Role: This position will be working to detect Methane Leaks in soils from buried pipelines through employing infrared optical imaging and acoustical emission systems. The research project bears upon whether hydrocarbon gas emissions can be detected remotely using optical gas imaging equipment. And upon detection, how can we identify the provenance of the leak. This will require acoustical signatures, infrared optical imaging, and knowledge of the fluid dynamics of methane in soils under differing moisture contents. The goal is to obtain the acoustic signatures frequency peaks from the experimental gas leaks from each acoustic device and to be able to identify the leak location. What You’ll Do – Position Duties
