The University of South Dakota’s Department of Computer Science is actively seeking a highly skilled individual to join our vibrant and forward-thinking research team. This opportunity is for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position, supported by the Department of Energy’s Funding for Accelerated Inclusive Research (FAIR) research grant under Dr. Vijayalakshmi Saravanan (Principal Investigator), in collaboration with Dr. Khaled Ibrahim at the Berkeley Lab. In this role, you will be at the forefront of advancing artificial intelligence (AI), multimodal data integration, high-performance computing (HPC), and machine learning, aligning with USD’s mission as the flagship university of the state, and our prominence in South Dakota’s leading AI programs. Your responsibilities will include publishing research findings in top-tier conferences and journals, as well as fostering. Join us in pushing the boundaries of AI research and contributing to the cutting-edge work taking place at the University of South Dakota. Duties & responsibilities: Provide technical leadership in the areas of artificial intelligence and machine learning and contribute to ongoing research activities Publish work in peer-reviewed high impact scientific conferences and journals Assist in writing research grant proposals Additional duties may be assigned. Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field Strong mathematical foundation Strong programming skills in languages such as Python,Java, Julia, MATLAB, R, and/or C++ Experience in one or more of the following areas: Machine learning, Deep learning, HPC and Docker/Singularity containerization Proven track record of research excellence, as evidenced by publications in top-tier conferences and journals Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Must have strong problem-solving and analytical skills Be able to conduct independent research, data management analysis and interpretation.
