Postdoctoral position - Liver Biology and Pathophysiology

A NIH funded postdoctoral position at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is available immediately for a highly motivated individual with research interests in liver biology and experimental models of liver disease.  The project focuses on the molecular mechanisms underpinning the complex interactions of liver inflammation, lipid metabolism, liver fibrosis, and reversal of these processes through pharmacologic targeting of nuclear receptors. Experiments will be designed to investigate cell-cell communications informed by single nuclei sequencing studies. Methods will include the use of our state-of-the-art microscopic facility, novel intracellular redox sensors, and unique whole body/cell specific knock-out mice. Our Translational Research team is led by a Basic Scientist and Clinician Scientist with a tract record of success.

Recent PhD or MD/PhD graduates with a strong background in transgenic animal studies, physiology, and/or cell biology are encouraged to apply.  Proficiency in computational studies (knowledge of R) is a plus. Salaries start at $62,125, and numerous resources are available for professional development and transition to faculty positions. Please direct inquires, CVs and contacts of three references via email to James Hamilton ([email protected]) and/or Svetlana Lutsenko ([email protected])
