Post-Doctoral Research Associate - Materials Science and Engineering Regular, Full-time, Pay Grade 00 Description: We are seeking a post-doctoral researcher to join our team on a DARPA/AFOSR-funded project examining the functional properties of high-entropy alloy nanowire scaffolds. The postdoc will perform a variety of work, including electrodeposition, chemical and thermal processing, microscopy, and thermal, magnetic and electronic measurements. Experience working with these techniques, as well as experience with nanomaterial powders and slurries is a plus. Proficiency with data analysis and a broad understanding of materials properties is highly desirable. The position is fully funded through August 2022. Since this work may become export controlled, it is desired to have a US citizen or Lawful US permanent resident.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications: A PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Applied Physics, Chemistry or similar. The ability to rapidly learn and adapt existing techniques and apply them to new systems. The ability to collate and focus data to establish meaningful conclusions and convey the results to technical, non-expert audiences. Must be able to start before December 1, 2021. Area: Work will be performed on-site, at the University of Tennessee, in Knoxville, TN. Salary The salary for this position is $66,700/year.
