Job Description

The Post Doctoral Research Associate will work with the Faculty Director(s) of the Energy Transition Institute (ETI) to advance ETI research and engagement activities.

  • Coordinating, managing, and performing research on funded ETI projects
  • Directing stakeholder engagement for the Energy Transition Initiative, with industry, communities, and organizations
  • Identifying and pursuing funding opportunities for the Energy Transition Initiative
  • Completing technical reports and disseminating ETI outcomes, findings, and activities
  • Survey and summarize research that significantly advances the integration of engineering, natural science, social science, and information and computer science disciplines pertaining to the energy transition.
  • Supervise research activities for ETI including meeting with graduate and undergraduate students to design and conduct research and to present results.
  • Participate in research design and execution and data analysis on energy equity in U.S. localities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • PhD
  • Work with a high level of independence
  • Prioritize all aspects of research activities with minimal supervision
  • Self-initiate suggestions and approaches to research and coordination efforts
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders
  • Organizational skills to maintain records and coordinate other tasks as required
  • Organizational skills to plan and schedule meetings and presentations

  • Knowledge of the energy system
  • Commitment to social justice

Additional Information

  • Monday - Friday, 32 hours per week, some nights and weekends required

Salary Information

  • Salary commensurate with experience.  One year benefited position, approximate start date 2/1/24.
