Post-Doctoral Research Associate - Department of Physics and Astronomy

The Biophysics group at the University of Tennessee is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher with a background in physics, engineering, or chemistry who is interested in self-organization phenomena in living systems. This research opportunity focuses on understanding the organization and dynamics of the nucleoid, the dynamic assembly of cell division machinery, and cell cycle control in E. coli . Applicants with expertise in high-resolution microscopy, computational data analysis (including AI models), microfluidics, or bacterial cell biology will be strongly considered. Proficiency in coding is needed for this position. The selected candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of nano/microfabricated fluidic devices for live cell studies, with fabrication taking place at the nearby Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Qualifications

 

Requirements:

  • The applicant should have a doctorate or be on track to receive the Ph. D. degree by the end of August 2023.
