Job Summary

Research direction of computational mechanics/materials or electrochemistry.
Doing research on Li-ion batteries, with a focus on the fundamental understanding of the transport effects with the coupling of mechanics, electrochemistry, and materials.


Job Responsibilities

Research on Li-ion batteries, with a focus on the fundamental understanding of the transport effects with the coupling of mechanics, electrochemistry, and materials. DFT & MD calculations, continuum modeling (finite element and phase field), multi-physics modeling, or multi-scale modeling.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with backgrounds in continuum modeling, mechanics, and battery modeling are encouraged to apply. While experience with electrochemistry is a plus, it is not required to start the position. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience in the research related to computational material/mechanics, separation with membrane, and modeling on the electro-chemo-mechanical coupling fields.

The mechanical engineering masters prepares graduates to support the design of engineered systems through the application of the fundamental knowledge, skills, and tools of mechanical engineering. Students will work independently as well as collaboratively with leaders in industry, while demonstrating the professional and ethical responsibilities of the engineering profession. Ultimately, graduates will enhance their skills through formal education and training, independent inquiry, and professional development.
