A two-year postdoctoral fellowship position is available in the laboratory of Dr Dima A. Hammoud in the Center for Infectious Disease Imaging, Radiology and Imaging Sciences, Clinical Center, NIH, with potential for renewal up to five years. The major focus of the laboratory is using advanced imaging modalities, namely Positron Emission Tomography to better understand the pathophysiology underlying infectious disease manifestations in the brain and other organs. The ultimate goal is to develop imaging biomarkers of infection that can be used as surrogate endpoints in clinical trials whether therapeutic or preventative. The laboratory has access to state of the art Mediso NanoScan PET/CT scanner, multiple human PET and PET/CT scanners, radiochemistry, biology, chemistry, and tissue culture labs.

Qualifications:
We are looking for a motivated Ph.D., M.D. or MD/Ph.D. candidate with molecular imaging or Imaging Sciences background. Candidates should have graduated no more than 36 months prior to the projected start date. A background in imaging of animal models, mainly rodents, especially with PET, is highly desirable. Experience in analysis of PET data from rodents, non-human primates and patients, and proficiency in using specialized PET analysis software (pmod and SPM) is an advantage.
Salary for the position is commensurate with experience and number of years since completing graduate school.
