Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Environmental Economics and Public Policy
Job Description
The School of Social Policy and Practice at the University of Pennsylvania, with support from the Kleinman Center for Energy Policy, invites applications for a two-year post-doctoral research fellow in environmental and labor economics beginning in July 2024.
The successful applicant will work closely with Prof. R. Jisung Park along with other associated faculty on research at the intersection of environmental economics, labor economics, and public policy, preferably on projects that explore the implications of climate and energy policy for economic opportunity and inequality.
The position will be focused primarily on the production of peer-reviewed academic research, with the expectation that the fellow will work on at least one co-authored project with Professor Park, and participate actively in the research community at Penn, including the Energy Economics and Finance seminar at Wharton.

    Requirements and Terms of Appointment:
    Compensation will be commensurate with the University of Pennsylvania's postdoctoral fellow policy and will include annual allowances for research and travel.
    Application materials are due Feb 1, 2024 to Dr. Jisung Park at [email protected] . They will be evaluated on a rolling basis, so early applications are encouraged. Final decisions will be announced by March 2024.
    The start date is July 1, 2024. Candidates must have completed requirements for a PhD in economics or related field by July 2024.
    Preferred skills include:
  • Strong quantitative reasoning.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to formulate and test clear research questions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, including possibly supervising research assistants.
  • Proficiency in statistical software, including STATA, is required. Proficiency in Python and Matlab are strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of research experience preferred.
