Position Description
We are seeking a Post-Doctoral Fellow who will work in the fields of economic history and labor economics under the direction of one or more professors in the Department of Economics. The position is focused on the challenge of accurate measurement with imperfect historical data. As a member of the department, the Post-Doctoral Fellow will:
  • Develop novel quantitative methods to answer central questions in economic history and labor economics.
  • Develop and publish software for analysis with imperfect historical data.
  • Implement large scale quantitative analyses.
  • Author or co-author publications. 

*Position will be for 1-year from Fall 2024, non-renewable.
Basic Qualifications
Ph.D. in economics or related field at the time of appointment.
Additional Qualifications
SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS
  • Strong quantitative background in econometrics or statistics.
  • Demonstrated expertise (e.g., publication) in economic history and labor economics. 
  • Experience working with large historical data sets.
  • Strong quantitative background in econometrics or statistics.
  • Proficiency in statistical programming languages (R, Python, Stata).
  • Excellent organizational skills as well as written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to pursue research questions independently and as part of a team
Special Instructions
Candidates are required to submit a CV, cover letter stating why they are qualified for the post-doc, letters of recommendation from three ladder faculty, and at least one paper or publication in the area of economic history and/or labor economics.
