Description of Work Unit | The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering has an international reputation for excellence in research across a broad array of disciplines, including systems and synthetic biology, advanced materials, and bioanalytical devices. PhD graduates receive world-class training, participate in cutting-edge (and often interdisciplinary) research projects, and are employed at all levels of academia and industry around the globe. The faculty also enjoy an award-winning reputation for teaching excellence. Undergraduate students benefit both from access to this classroom expertise and from a long tradition of substantive undergraduate participation in research. The department’s research efforts are supported by several state-of-the-art core facilities on the campus of Colorado State University as well as new instrumentation in the Scott Bioengineering Building. The Wang Lab of Computational Soft Materials is a highly collaborative team of computational and theoretical scientists with the research goal of combining advanced theories and computer simulation techniques to study at nano- to meso-scales (i.e., from sub-nanometers to micrometers) the behavior of nanostructured polymeric materials. The successful applicant for this position will develop and apply advanced computational modeling tools to understand and predict the behavior and properties of nanostructured polymers. |
Position Summary | This full-time Postdoctoral Fellow will be responsible for conducting advanced molecular simulations and theoretical calculations to study the equilibrium behavior of various polymeric systems described by generic, coarse-grained models. The postdoc will report directly to Professor Qiang Wang. This is a 40 hour per week assignment. The chosen candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date. The Department will not sponsor a visa for this position. |
