Position Description


Advertised Job Summary
The TecHealth Research Group is looking for a Post-Doctoral Fellow who will assist with several NIH or CDC funded behavioral technology-supported interventions targeting diet, physical activity, sedentary time, and weight loss in the Technology and Behavioral Intervention Lab. The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, participation in the implementation of behavioral clinical trials using novel frameworks such as the Multiphase Optimization Strategy (MOST), preparation of manuscripts and grant applications, data analysis, delivering scientific presentations at regional and national conferences, and other related tasks.
Required Education and Experience
Ph.D. in Exercise Science, or a closely-related social science/Public Health field. ABD applicants are welcome to apply. Selected candidate must provide evidence of completion of all degree requirements prior to employment start date.

- Demonstrate excellent communication (oral and written) and organizational skills.
- Ability to work as a team and independently.
- Able to complete basic data reduction and statistical analyses.
- Familiar with behavioral or technology-supported interventions and/or physical activity assessment.
- Ability to articulate ideas and demonstrate a willingness to bring creative and new ideas to the team.
- Ensure timely completion of all required CITI Human Subjects and Good Clinical Practice Training.

Serve as lead or co-author on research publications for submission to, and publication in, esteemed peer-reviewed journals as it relates to dietary improvement, physical activity increase, weight loss.

Analyze data, including physical activity accelerometry data, from datasets available to the Technology and Behavioral Intervention Lab for the purpose of supporting development of research articles for publication and dissemination to community and clinical partners through presentations and electronic methods.

Assist PI with supervision and mentoring of graduate and undergraduate students working on writing and conceptualizing grants, peer-reviewed manuscripts, and conference presentations from the data collected via the NIH or CDC funded studies.

Assist PI with the development and training of research staff and with supervision of graduate and undergraduate research assistants on CDC and NIH protocols and applicable guidelines to ensure compliance with prescribed protocols. This is accomplished by distributing related materials and coordinating and leading virtual and in-person workshops.
