Position Description


Advertised Job Summary
The position primarily will involve engagement with funded HIV and COVID-19 research at the South Carolina Department of Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior and SmartState Center for Healthcare Quality (CHQ) at University of South Carolina (UofSC) Arnold School of Public Health.
Required Education and Experience
Ph.D. in Public Health or closely related social sciences field by the start date of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in public health, which could have been gained during the normal course of a doctoral degree program.
- Must be detail-oriented and have strong writing skills, including evidence for leadership conceptualizing and writing scientific publications.
- Expertise leading quantitative analyses, including analyses of survey data.
- Expertise with evaluation of communication and policy effects on perceptions and behaviors.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance
policies, procedures, and regulations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Conduct reviews of scientific literature and other relevant research to support the development and writing of scientific publications and proposals for funding, ensuring their conceptual rigor and comprehensive inclusion of relevant information to support studies and interpretation of study results
