The University of Houston, College of Pharmacy invites qualified candidates to apply for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Center for Population Health Outcomes and Pharmacoepidemiology Education and Research Center (P-HOPER Center) and the Department of Pharmaceutical Health Outcomes and Policy (PHOP). The Mission of the P-HOPER Center is to conduct innovative population health outcomes research and offer educational programs and population practices with an impact on the region and the nation. The University of Houston (UH) is a Carnegie-designated Tier One public research university and a member institution of the world-renowned Texas Medical Center, which houses major clinical and academic programs. UH is one of the most culturally and ethnically diverse public universities in the nation, with over 40,000 students. 

All applicants must hold an earned Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Health Outcomes or closely related disciplines with a strong quantitative background involving large healthcare data. Applicants must have peer-reviewed publications involving claims or electronic medical records data.  The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to ongoing research initiatives involving data analyses, publications, presentations, and grants.

Qualifications:

·       Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Health Outcomes or closely related disciplines ·

·       Strong capabilities in quantitative healthcare data analysis

·       Research and publication experience in health outcomes research

Possesses, understands, and applies a comprehensive knowledge in area of specialization. Develops understanding and skills to allow for completion of assignments that cross fields of specialization. Develops leadership and management skills.

  • Receives/Reviews progress and evaluates results of experiments or projects under control or supervisory responsibility.
  • Recommends changes in research, testing or experimental procedures.
  • May be responsible for a single highly technical and complex piece of research equipment.
  • May review and evaluate the effectiveness of personnel.
  • May plan for and assign personnel to projects under control.
  • Operates with latitude for unreviewed action.
  • May receive general supervision conferring with higher levels only in unusual situations.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

    Qualifications

     

    Doctoral and No experience

    Requires singular knowledge of a specialized advanced professional discipline or the highest level of general business knowledge, normally acquired through attainment of a directly job-related terminal degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. No experience is required.
