    Qualifications

     

    Doctoral and No experience

    Requires singular knowledge of a specialized advanced professional discipline or the highest level of general business knowledge, normally acquired through attainment of a directly job-related terminal degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. No experience is required.

    The Dual Lab, under the supervision of Anny Castilla-Earls, PhD, at the University of Houston is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to be part of a team of scholars with a general interest in quantitative and qualitative approaches to bilingualism in school-age children with and without developmental language disorder. The ideal candidate will be interested in questions related to bilingualism, language assessment, language development, morphosyntax, and/or developmental language disorder. This person should have good quantitative and/or qualitative research skills and must be Spanish-English bilingual. The candidate will be involved in several aspects of the research project under the supervision of Dr. Castilla-Earls and have the opportunity to lead/design their own studies as well. Dr. Castilla-Earls has ample experience mentoring underrepresented students.

    A doctoral degree (ABD considered) in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Education, Linguistics, Psychology, or another allied field is preferred.

    Planned start date is August 2024. This is a full-time benefited position for up to 1 year, with the possibility of extension of the position beyond 2025. Candidate will apply for an F32 fellowship during the first year.
