Summary of Job Duties:

The Post-Doctoral Researcher will focus on experimental evaluation of sensory perception and sensorimotor performance using a novel prosthetic system. This work will require experimental design for psychophysics studies and extensive analysis of data from sensory and sensorimotor experiments. The researcher will work as a member of the clinical research team and will participate in data collection activities, develop tools for efficient and reliable data collection, and prepare reports and publications of research results.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A PhD or comparable advanced degree in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering or related fields is required

  • Two or more years of relevant experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong background in neuroscience (particularly, neural stimulation research, somatosensory perception and neural control of manipulation)

  • Prior experience of working with human subjects

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for human subject medical device development

  • Ability to program in Matlab or Python

  • Ability to plan and anticipate actions according to changing priorities and deadlines

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience troubleshooting equipment in clinical environments

  • Ability to document activities and develop product documentation as needed

  • Collaborate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team while being able to work independently

  • Share a desire to improve healthcare

 


Additional Information:

This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.
