Job Description Summary:
A position is available for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow in the Mobility and Falls Laboratory at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC). The fellow will be extensively involved working on projects focusing on intersection of mobility and cognition in persons living with Multiple Sclerosis. The position is funded by a mentored based rehabilitation post-doctoral fellowship from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The ideal candidate should possess a PhD in rehabilitation science, kinesiology, mechanical engineering, bioengineering, or related field with graduate research experience in human movement.
The candidate should be able to work as a part of an interdisciplinary research team, have strong communication skills (established publication record) and technical skills.

Required Qualifications

Education: PhD in rehabilitation science, kinesiology, biomedical engineering, or related field

Work Experience: Graduate research experience in human movement

Job Duties Outlined

  • Facilitate ethical review of research projects
  • Analyze and disseminate findings from basic and clinical research, including but not limited to analysis of data with advanced software, and developing and submitting manuscripts for publication.
  • Design and implement human research projects.
  • Participate in research funding applications, statistical analysis plan, disseminate research findings.
  • Assist with grant preparation
  • Attention to detail, multitasking, ability to work within a team including research assistants and students.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation Statement:

The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
