Located on the flagship campus of the Indiana University System, IU School of Public Health‐Bloomington has over 200 faculty in five departments. Indiana University is classified as an R1-Highest Research Activity university, is a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities (AAU) and boasts numerous resources. IU School of Public Health‐Bloomington combines aspects of a traditional university campus with a strong teaching focus and the research infrastructure of a research-intensive institution.
The Department of Applied Health Science currently has 130 faculty members and staff combined, with 53 voting members of the faculty and 37 Adjunct faculty members. It offers a Bachelor of Science in Applied Health Science degree, with five areas of focus: Dietetics (ACEND accredited), Human Development and Family Studies, Nutrition Science, Safety, and Youth Development. The Department of Applied Health Science also offers a Bachelor of Science in Public Health degree in Community Health, Master of Public Health, and Master of Science degrees, and a doctoral degree in Health Behavior. A new PhD degree program in Nutrition is undergoing the accreditation process. Faculty pursue research in a wide array of areas, including alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse prevention, HIV/STD prevention, human sexuality, sexual and reproductive health, nutrition, obesity, maternal and child health, population health, public health policy, and application of health behavior theory.
The Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington invites applications for a post-doctoral fellowship in sexual and reproductive health. The term of appointment is one year, with potential renewal for an additional year. The candidate may start as early as Summer 2024 or Fall 2024; applications received by April 30, 2024, will receive full consideration, but applications will continue to be reviewed on a rolling basis. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, with a tentative start date of July 1, 2024. The salary and benefits are competitive and include the possibility of funding for conference-related travel and expenses. Ideally, the fellow will reside in the Bloomington, Indiana area during the period of the fellowship; however, given the ever-evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, this may be negotiable.
Responsibilities: The person selected will work with Provost Professor Debby Herbenick to define both formal and informal duties. They will coordinate with Dr. Herbenick and other faculty at Indiana University interested in sexual and reproductive health, especially focusing on US nationally representative survey data related to sexual and reproductive health and behavior, qualitative analysis of interview data and open-ended survey data, as well as intervention development. In addition to conducting their own research, the fellow’s responsibilities include collaborating with faculty on grant writing efforts and research projects, with opportunities for co-authored publications. The fellow will also work with, train, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students and other project staff.

Basic Qualifications
Applicants are invited from any relevant discipline including public health, health education/health promotion, and the social and behavioral sciences (e.g., psychology, sociology). Candidates must have received a doctoral degree from an accredited educational institution by the start of appointment. The successful applicant will have a strong interest and research experience in sexual and reproductive health with a focus on adolescents and young adults and excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal and organizational skills. The successful applicant should be able to provide evidence of past work or skillsets.

Additional Qualifications
Strong qualitative and/or quantitative research skills, with proficiency in Stata, SPSS, SAS or R programming language is preferred. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate their writing and/or analytic strengths thorugh in-press or published manuscripts.
