A full time Post-Doctoral Fellow position is available in the Education and Research Center at the University of Cincinnati (UC-ERC). UC-ERC is a training center in the field of occupational safety and health funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. The Post-Doctoral Fellow will be supervised by Dr. Gordon Gillespie in the Office for Research and Scholarship, College of Nursing. The research focuses on the following occupational risk factors among home health and healthcare workers: 1) workplace violence and 2) stress and burnout. This project has a duration of one (1) year with a planned timeline of 04/01/2024 to 3/31/2025.

This position is funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, through the Education and Research Center (ERC); therefore, applicants must possess US citizenship or US Permanent Resident status.

• Conduct research projects in occupational safety and health of home health and healthcare workers. Gather and analyze data and develop new ideas that promote investigation of exposures for healthcare professionals.

• Prepare data analyses, statistical analyses, reports, manuscripts, and presentations of research results.

• Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentation; may assist in grant writing.

• Keep informed of developments in field to maintain and enhance professional expertise.

• May teach techniques to others, train, and mentor junior research staff.

• Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities.

• Play an active role in seeking career and research advice, both from the faculty supervisor and from other faculty members as well.

Doctoral Degree in Occupational Health Nursing Science or related field, or the recognized terminal degree or foreign equivalent.

· In-depth knowledge and experience of specialized software programs.

· Ability to develop an App that will assist home health and healthcare workers to prepare for expected exposures in homes and healthcare settings.

· Experience working in larger inter-disciplinary research team (this project includes ergonomists, industrial hygienists, occupational health nurses, occupational medicine, and occupational safety engineering).
