Job Description Summary
Dr. Tiffany Brown, the Director of AppearanCe Concerns, Eating, Prevention, and Treatment (ACCEPT) lab at Auburn University is hiring a full-time post-doctoral fellow to work on a National Institute of Mental Health supported R61 focusing on further developing and pilot testing a novel virtually delivered psychosocial treatment for sexual minority adults living with an eating disorder. This R61 was jointly awarded to Dr. Brown and Dr. Aaron Blashill, the Director of Body Image, Sexuality, and Health (BISH) lab at San Diego State University (SDSU); as such, this position will be jointly supervised and mentored by Dr. Brown and Dr. Blashill. This position will involve managing the day-to-day operations of the clinical trial including: overseeing full-time study coordinators and staff across Auburn University and SDSU, working with LGBTQ community partners, working with clinical participants with eating disorders, conducting diagnostic assessments, assisting with data preparation and analysis, working on grant proposals and publications, and working with a large interdisciplinary team at Auburn University, SDSU, and with cross-site collaborators. In addition to the roles described above, the candidate will have numerous opportunities for mentored grant-writing (e.g., K awards), conducting secondary data analyses on numerous existing projects across the ACCEPT and BISH labs (including eating disorder prevention data on young sexual minority men), manuscript writing, presentation at national/international conferences, and opportunities to mentor junior members across the labs. This position is a two-year position with the possibility of renewal. This post-doctoral fellowship will help propel the fellow into a tenure-track or research faculty position.
Minimum Qualifications
A Ph.D. in psychology or a related field is required. ABD candidates will be considered but must have a Ph.D. by the start date or the offer will be withdrawn.
The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the term of employment.
