This post-doctoral associate will carry out field sampling and lab experiments to characterize toxicity of airborne particles as well as training of undergraduate students conducting research.  

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                           

Conduct experiments to evaluate particle toxicity,

Develop new instrument for characterizing particle toxicity,

Prepare project reports and manuscripts documenting research findings,

Write research proposals,

Mentor graduate and undergraduate students to conduct research.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                        

Education:

Ph.D. in environmental engineering, environmental science or environmental health

Certification and Licensing:

N/A

Experience:

No prior experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
