Position Summary
The Phanstiel Lab at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (http://phanstiel-lab.med.unc.edu/) is looking for a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral fellow to study gene regulation in human development and disease. We are particularly interested in understanding the mechanisms through which enhancers and three-dimensional chromatin structure alter transcriptional output during cellular processes and how misregulation of these processes influences the risk of human diseases. The applicant will use genomic and bioinformatic techniques to detect chromatin loops, enhancers, transcription factor binding events, and other genomic and proteomic phenomena. They will use bioinformatic and gene editing approaches to predict and functionally test hypotheses regarding the genetic underpinnings of Alzheimer’s Disease, leukemia, and osteoarthritis. We encourage applicants with experience in tissue culture, genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, or computational integration of multi-omic data sets.
