Position Summary
Position Summary:

Applications are invited for an outstanding post-doctoral research associate to join the Department of City and Regional Planning working under the direction of Prof. Miyuki Hino at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 
 The post-doctoral research associate is expected to conduct research evaluating climate change risks and adaptation. Specific topics of interest include coastal flooding, climate-induced migration and retreat, and the social and economic impacts of climate hazards. The post-doctoral research associate will be expected to contribute to several projects through research design, data collection and analysis, and manuscript development. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to engage with intellectual opportunities across UNC.
 The candidate must hold a PhD in geography or related discipline. Experience conducting research related to climate risks and/or adaptation is essential. Successful candidates will also demonstrate strong training in quantitative analysis and statistical approaches along with knowledge of research design. 
The training, experience, and knowledge described above are expected to be obtained in process of the PhD or obtained post-graduation.
