Position Summary | The Center for Women’s Health Research (CWHR) is an innovative model for providing comprehensive non-laboratory based research services to investigators across the UNC campus. Launched in 2000, the Center foster interdisciplinary research collaboration, facilitates grant preparation, coordinates research, supports career development of women’s health researchers, and enhances visibility of women’s health research at UNC, in the local community and at the state and national level. CWHR supports research teams without regard to the administrative unit that will receive the award, and prioritizes assisting with proposals that would not otherwise receive facilitation and/orthose that, if funded, would launch a new area of women’s health research at UNC. The Horizons Program is a regional perinatal/maternal substance abuse treatment program of the Department of OB-GYN at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This program provides comprehensive, gender specific, trauma-informed outpatient and residential treatment for pregnant women and mothers and their children. The woman works on her recovery from active addiction, trauma and other mental health issues, parenting, and education and employment for self-sufficiency. The program provides evidence-based groups, individual therapy, Intensive Recovery Supports, Peer Support Services, as well as psychiatric assessment and treatment. This program also conducts research in the USA and internationally on problems of substance use disorders among women and children. This position will be responsible for assisting the Principal Investigator in all aspects of the study as well as being integrated in aspects of the family treatment services and their measurement at UNC Horizons in order to inform national and international interventions for children at risk for and actively using substances. Such aspects include, but are not limited to, assisting in adherence to all IRB and other rules and regulations governing research and projects for human subjects, project conduct (e.g., policy and procedure manual) data collection, study related documentation accuracy and organization for audits and review, and assisting the study team in other tasks and duties as needed. This position will serve as back up to the program manager in coordinating meetings, facilitating communication, data entry, updating manuals, and assisting and supporting the PI. This position will serve as a Master Trainer for the intervention. This position will assist in setting up and monitoring field operations, procedures, and quality assurance measures for the study as well as developing and maintaining all study forms and tracking all data. Other duties include maintaining weekly communication with the field site, troubleshooting issues, reviewing and cleaning data, and supporting the development of staff training related to the project. This position will ensure REDCap data entry timeliness, quality, and helping with data entry. This position will work with UNC Horizons and travel to India. |

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | Experience working with parents who use substances or children that are at risk for substance use or actively using substances, especially in residential treatment settings. Provided services in the format of Child Parent Psychotherapy with a focus on parent-child attachment repair. Being a Circle of Security Parenting, Registered Facilitator as well as Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy certified or Certification Eligible. Ability to travel to India, strong communication skills, ability to solve problems and work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. |
