Job Summary:

Applications are invited for an outstanding post-doctoral research associate to join the Department of City and Regional Planning working under the direction of Prof. Nichola Lowe at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The post-doctoral research associate is expected to conduct research on various projects exploring technology and the future of work. A major responsibility will be assisting Dr. Lowe with her research on the US Manufacturing Extension Partnership, examining the potential for manufacturing extension providers to integrate worker- and technology-centered services to protect frontline workers from job loss through stronger promotion of job quality and racial equity standards. The post-doctoral research associate will be expected to contribute to this and other technology-centered projects through research design, data collection and analysis. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to engage with intellectual opportunities across UNC. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so early applications are encouraged. Minimum Qualifications:

Experience conducting research related to state and local economic development is essential. Successful candidates will also demonstrate strong training in qualitative case study analysis. The training, experience and knowledge described above are expected to be obtained in process of the PhD or obtained post-graduation.
