Job Summary

The College of Agriculture at Purdue University is looking for a Post Doc Research Associate. The person in this position will take a lead role in developing and carrying out surveys of farmers and other relevant stakeholders to identify opportunities and barriers to organic farming systems in the region. The Post Doc will also assist with the identification of metrics that can be used to quantify the success of the project and work with the project team to collect and analyze data and track our efforts in meeting these metrics. Finally, the Post Doc will participate in all engagement activities and take a lead role in developing new methods for educating local farmers and other stakeholders. This position will be based in the Dept. of Agricultural Sciences, Education and Communication under Dr. Julia Bello-Bravo, and work closely with NEXUS project coordinator, Dr. Rosa Cossio.


Design and creation of instruments (surveys) to understand constraints, limitations and barriers that farmers face on organic agriculture and the opportunities to improve their livelihoods.


The candidate will also assist on collecting and analyzing data with local communities. The Post Doc will identify metrics that can be used to quantify the success of the project and work in coordination with the project team on meeting the metrics.


The Post Doc will participate in all engagement activities and take a lead role in developing new methods for educating local farmers and other stakeholders.


The Post Doc will help with the design and creation of digital materials that will be used for training and sensitization of best agricultural practices in organic agriculture.
